Description

The Gate – Thomas Lab Renovation project transforms the existing introverted 54,300 sf into a light filled, state of the art facility for physics and nanotechnology research. 6,000 nsf of vibrationally quiet research labs are located in the building’s lowest level and are supported by graduate and post-doc neighborhoods for assigned work stations and collaboration.  The advanced instrumentation teaching lab brings undergraduate students into the research facility where art applications influenced by seismic data and an open central gathering space help to engage students, researchers and faculty in the science and history of the Gate-Thomas Lab building.
