New Research laboratory, laboratory support and BSU space dedicated to cancer research on the Addenbrooke’s Hospital campus. This facility will allow close collaboration between research scientists and research oncologists, for a strong translation of basic research findings from “the bench to the bedside”, consistent with Cancer Research-UK’s mission. Support spaces include irradiation, confocal microscopy, BSL-3 suite, transgenic vivarium, FACS, histopathology, radioactive lab, and in situ hybridization.
In response to Cancer Research-UK’s working group methodology, each laboratory floor is divided into two wings with offices looking directly into labs, fostering communication and interaction between groups. The wings are unified and joined by shared meeting rooms, support/administrative spaces, a coffee bar, and communicating stair which leads to the facility’s library and exhibition hall below.
