Description

The complete renovation of the West and South Wings providing large open research laboratories for the Botany and Zoology Departments with all mobile benches for maximum flexibility and dedicated support spaces for individual research teams. The facility also consolidates the university's aquatics animal holding into one 19,300 NSF area with 24 aquaria laboratories and ten controlled environment rooms to house 15 recirculating seawater life support systems ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 litres and other stand alone aquaria. Laboratory support spaces include imaging suite, tissue culture rooms, gas chromatography, instrument rooms, equipment rooms, radioisotope fume hood rooms and tissue extraction.
