About this project
The $43 million, state-of-the-art Aerospace and Engineering Sciences Building serves as a training ground for the next generation of professionals in advanced manufacturing, engineering and industrial design. New instructional facilities are provided for each the Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technology departments, Industrial Design, and Computer Science and Computer Information Systems. Spaces include hands-on design and fabrication laboratories, or Makerspace, for a wide range of materials, such as metals, wood, plastics and fabric. Engineering spaces include traditional high bay space for heavy equipment, thermal/heat transfer, materials testing, controls and electronics labs, as well as an advanced machine shop. The “Advanced Manufacturing Hall” is a place for industry leaders to partner with and mentor potential candidates in their field, and includes modern CNC equipment, laser and plasma cutters, as well as robotic assemblies to demonstrate manufacturing capabilities.
