About this project
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) project consolidated and provided a new home for TxDOT laboratories involved in the testing of roadway materials which include concrete, asphalt, and metal. There are 6 sections responsible for this testing along with instruction in all aspects of proficiency throughout TxDOT: Traffic Materials Section, Ridged Pavements Section, Flexible Pavements Section, Quality Control Section, Soils and Aggregate Section, Traffic Operations and Signal Section. The wide range of laboratories required for these sections to perform their work include Chemistry labs, Acid labs, Concrete Testing labs, Asphalt labs, Analytical Instrumentation labs, Corrosion Testing labs, and Concrete Curing Rooms. Forklift, bobcat, and pickup truck access is required for much of the lab space as well as access to outside and inside roadway materials storage and warehouse areas.
