About this project

25,743 NSF of laboratory and laboratory support space in a 70,804 GSF building for the departments of Biology, Marine Biology, and Biochemistry for the study of the distribution, composition, toxicity and structure of marine toxins; bioorganic chemistry (isolation and identification of bioactive compounds from marine organisms); identification and analysis of naturally occurring marine toxins; and marine phytoplankton and harmful algal blooms (HABs). Also included are incubator lease labs for biotechnology startups. Facility includes five dedicated research laboratories and eleven lease labs. Laboratory support spaces include thirteen controlled environment rooms, culture inoculation clean space, and media prep/glasswash.
