About this project
The 180,000 gross-square-foot Digital Futures Building is part of the Uptown Gateway mixed-use development located near the University of Cincinnati campus. The $200,000,000 Uptown Gateway development incorporates a hotel, several office buildings, and parking on an urban parcel. The University of Cincinnati signed a long-term lease on one of the office buildings within this development – which houses the Digital Futures program. RFD provided programmatic and laboratory-planning-related consulting services for the Digital Futures Building. The building houses 23,051 net-square-feet of laboratory space focused on a range of applied computer science applications such as machine learning, human-computer interface, networks, cyber security, sensors, robotics and artificial intelligence. Specialized laboratory facilities include a fabrication shop, a high-bay drone testing facility, and electronics assembly areas.
