About this project
The 227,000 square-foot Foundational Sciences Building at Ball State University is home to the Departments of Biology and Chemistry, designed to meet the instructional and research needs of these burgeoning departments. The new five-story building consists of six classrooms, more than 70 teaching and research laboratories, a research library, conference rooms, computer labs, faculty offices, and collaborative space for both students and faculty to cross-pollinate. Research laboratories were conceived to encourage wellness and sustainability, and designed for flexibility and adaptability for long-term change. Other science facilities include a modern imaging suite for electron microscopy, and a fully-equipped shared aquatics facility.
