About this project
The New Interdisciplinary Science Building is a 175,460 GSF facility that provides both research and instructional laboratories, as well as administrative offices for the College of Arts and Sciences. The departments of Chemistry, Biology, and Earth Sciences benefit from new, contemporary research lab “clusters” intended to foster collaboration. Teaching laboratories for Freshman and upper division chemistry courses are located near their associated research clusters to encourage undergraduate research projects. An Active Learning Studio, seminar rooms, classrooms and two 225+ seat auditoriums provide much-needed lab/lecture space for the College. Other shared laboratory facilities include an NMR room, an XRD/XRF facility, multiple instrument analysis rooms, and a central chemical stockroom.
