Chemistry Building Renovation

University of Iowa | Completed: 2007

About this project

50,000 NSF of laboratory and laboratory support space in a 150,000 GSF Building for the Department of Chemistry. Facility includes Teaching and Research Laboratories for Organic, Inorganic, Physical & Analytical Chemistry.  Support spaces include Analytical Instrumentation, Prep Rooms, Chemical Storage and NMR Laboratory.  The new renovation helps enable students to cross various disciplines. New synthetic strategies and technologies, catalysis, functional organic materials, molecular recognition, molecular modeling and explorations in chemical biology through molecular design and mechanistic studies are just some of the themes that will permit chemists to develop skills to extend the field on a current cross-disciplinary path.
