Washington State University | Completed: 2020

About this project

28,562 NSF of research laboratories and laboratory support space for the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS) serving faculty and students in Plant Biochemistry, Plant Pathology, Horticulture, and Crop and Soil Sciences. This new facility forms an integral part of the developing Research and Education Complex (REC) and is integral to the university's goal to be recognized as a top 25 public research university by 2030. The building provides collaboration opportunities for a range of research fields previously located in multiple older facilities including the Tissue Imaging and Proteomics Lab for the Institute for Biological Chemistry. The research laboratories are designed on an open, modular basis to support collaboration and provide flexibility for the initial occupancy as well as long term adaptability as needs change over the life of the building. Laboratory support spaces include Gel Processing rooms,  Glasswash/Autoclave rooms, Tissue Culture rooms, Cold rooms, Instument rooms, PCR rooms, and Microscopy rooms. Core facilities include MMPL Laboratory, Freezer Farm, Growth Chamber Suite, and Growth Room Suite.
