About this project
The Case Western Department of Biology and School of Medicine was in need of new teaching facilities to replace their aging laboratories. A large majority of the program is comprised of the eight teaching laboratories, three student resource laboratories and various support laboratories, totaling more than 15,000 net square feet of laboratory space in a former dentistry school facility. In addition, the program includes an Aquatics laboratory for the study of various live fresh and saltwater species. Other specialized facilities include an Autoclave & Glasswash room, microscopy lab and a student Analytical Instrumentation facility, dubbed the “BioBox”.
