About this project
The newest Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Building at Arizona State University (dubbed “ISTB7”) is home to the Institute of Human Origins (IHO), as well as several other research institutes and Centers. ISTB7 serves as a new “gateway” to the Tempe campus, anchoring the research district at the northeast end and serving as a connection between world-class research and commerce. The building theme of sustainable food, water and energy attracts students, researchers, and grants associated with supporting human existence and comfort. The IHO includes teaching/outreach and collection study suites comprised of the following lab spaces: Visualization (computer) lab, Zooarchaeology, Hard Tissue Lab, Geological Sample Lab and an Ancient DNA Lab that includes a clean room to prevent contamination of the DNA samples.
