About this project
This 59,600 GSF research building is part of a new 1.2-million-square-foot medical center campus, located on 31 acres in Aurora. The new medical campus is focused on bringing innovative and leading-edge care to Veterans in this region. A central spine connects the entire campus together – including public circulation above ground, and materials circulation below ground. The research building - located at one end of the spine – provides key functionality for translational medical delivery, while accommodating clinicians who bridge research and clinical positions. Laboratory groups accommodated in the research building include Biomedical Research, Rehabilitation Research, and Veterinary Services. Veterinary Services runs a multi-species vivarium including small and medium animal models. Other key shared Core Facilities include Mass Spectrometry, Cell Sorting, a PCR Suite, DNA Sequencing, and a Confocal Microscopy Suite.
