About this project
This project creates a replacement for the 1970’s-era Scaife Hall. The Scaife Hall Replacement Building will continue to house the top-10-ranked Department of Mechanical Engineering at CMU. The building will house departmental offices, instructional classrooms, and research laboratories. The research laboratories will support an advanced robotics program including spaces that accommodate bio-robotics-materials research and novel robotic chemical compounds. Key support facilities include an indoor drone arena and a mass-prototyping core. Laboratories for CMU’s Cyber Physical Systems research group will also be housed in this building.
