About this project

This 1968 classroom building is UMKC’s primary Chemistry and Biosciences building, and houses approximately 92,000 square feet of laboratory and laboratory support space for these departments. Nearly 18,000 square feet has been modernized to provide state-of-the art teaching and research laboratory spaces that meet the needs of the modern learning landscape, and today’s technically-oriented student body. Laboratory space includes new general chemistry and general biology labs for first-year students, as well as advanced laboratories for Organic Chemistry, Analytical/Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry and Microbiology. New student/faculty research space is included in the building with flexible furnishings and casework to allow the space to change and evolve over time.
