About this project
This 188,270 GSF building serves as a home to the new Stephen A. Schwarzman College of Computing at MIT. Working closely with the Dean, campus planning, and key faculty representatives – the design team developed a novel concept of “damp” research laboratories to support applied computer science research in this building. The laboratories house research groups whose work spans fields between electronics, advanced fabrication, novel sensors, systems engineering, and other hybrid fields. The building also houses the Dean’s office, key public spaces, a computer science auditorium, and a wide array of dry office-based research spaces.
