About this project

The Henry Wellcome Building is the largest development of its kind ever undertaken in Wales and provides a flagship for biomedical research in Cardiff and the Principality. The building includes 4500m2 of state-of-the art laboratories and equipment for translational research. This is adjacent to a purpose-built Clinical Research Facility which facilitates applications of basic research findings to improve patient care. The laboratories are occupied by highly successful groups working in the areas of Infection, BL3, Radioisotope, Immunity, Cancer Biology and Psychiatric Genetics. In addition there are shared core facilities providing state-of-the-art technology for Cell Imaging, Genomics and Proteomics. Animal facility includes Transgenic barrier holding, BL3 holding, and microinjection.
